IMPORTANT NEWS: On December 4, 2009, all CIT Lab services will cease as we prepare for the move to the temporary library computer lab space on the 5th floor. At that time, all CIT Lab door codes will be disabled and will no longer be needed. CIT services, including workstation access and equipment loans, will resume by January 12, 2010, on the 5th floor.

CIT Lab Equipment...

The CIT Lab loans out equipment for short periods of time to registered CIT Lab users. The typical loan period is two days, though longer periods are possible with the approval of the Manager, CIT Lab.

Who can borrow the equipment? The following equipment can be borrowed by UCSF faculty (or their designated staff/student assistants) for the purposes of developing instructional content for use in the UCSF curricula. All other uses must first be approved by the Manager, CIT Lab. All borrowers must be registered users of the CIT Lab. All borrowers must accept full responsibility for the equipment they borrow (a signed lease agreement is required), for either repair or replacement of lost or damaged items. How to borrow the equipment: Contact the CIT to make an equipment request. You can also call 415-514-2991 or 415-476-4162.

The CIT does not provide media (e.g., miniDV tapes). The Library Cashier's Window, in Room 211 on the 2nd Floor of the Kalmanowitz Library, now sells a variety of digital media, including miniDV tapes, CD-R and CD-RW discs, and Iomega Zip disks.
