CIT Lab: Image Processing and Scanning

The image processing and scanning workstations enable users to acquire and process digital images. This is done by using scanning hardware to digitize images from print, photographs and slides. A digital camera is also available for image capture. Once digitized, these images may be edited, altered and otherwise processed with the graphical software at these stations. For the graphically inclined, we also have workstations with software and hardware for creating images from scratch. The latest versions of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are available on all CIT Lab workstations. Debabelizer image processing software is also available for both the Mac and Windows.

The following image processing peripherals are available in the CIT Lab:
  • Nikon CoolScan IV ED Slide Scanner
  • Nikon LS-1000 Slide Scanner
  • HP Scanjet 5490c w/ document feeder
  • Epson Perfection 1240U PHOTO Scanner
  • UMAX Astra 6450 Firewire Scanner
  • Microtek ScanMaker 9800XL with TMA Flatbed/Transparency Scanner
  • Wacom Graphics Tablet
