CIT Lab: Location/Hours/Access

IMPORTANT NEWS:   On December 4, 2009, all CIT Lab services will cease as we prepare for the move to the temporary library computer lab space on the 5th floor. At that time, all CIT Lab door codes will be disabled and will no longer be needed. CIT services, including workstation access and equipment loans, will resume by January 12, 2010, on the 5th floor.

Location:
Library & Center for Knowledge Management, Room 229A (inside Room 231, the Interactive Learning Center).   [View Floor Map]

Hours:
The CIT Lab is open to registered users all hours that the Library is open. However, the door to the CIT Lab is always locked; to access the Lab, one needs an access code (see below). CIT staff are usually available between 8:30am-5:30pm on weekdays. We advise that lab users needing specific help make an appointment with a CIT Lab staff member.

Access:
To become a registered user of the CIT Lab, UCSF faculty should first contact the CIT Lab Manager at 502-6678 for an appointment. Faculty who are developing multimedia content for UCSF instructional purposes can obtain a CIT Lab code. Students and staff who are working with/for faculty to develop instructional multimedia content can also obtain a code, but they must first follow the procedures available on the link below.

See CIT Lab Door Codes for more information.

Scheduling Workstation Time:
There are calendars next to each workstation where CIT Lab users can schedule time. We recommend that you schedule the dates and times when you need to use workstations to guarantee that they will be available for your use.
