Speaker: Tim Bates, MPP, The Center for the Health Professions.
Last year the full American Community Survey (ACS) Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) was released and more recently the 2006 ACS PUMS became available. The American Community Survey represents a new standard in publicly available data describing social, demographic and economic characteristics of the population at the level of state and sub-state geography. It offers researchers new potential for analysis of California's population and health professions workforce. Using the American Community Survey in Health Professions Workforce Research presents a broad overview of the role ACS PUMS data play in the presenter's ongoing research of California's allied healthcare workforce.
