- The Web of Asynchronous Learning Networks (ALN Web)
Created by Vanderbilt University with funding from the Sloan Foundation, ALN Web provides a forum for educators and others involved in asynchronous learning applications. ALN publishes a journal and newsletter which is available at this site.
- IMS Project
IMS (Instructional Management Systems) is a global coalition of academic, commercial and government organizations, working together to define the Internet architecture for learning. IMS was formed as a catalyst for the development of a substantial body of instructional software, the creation of an online infrastructure for managing access to learning materials and environments, the facilitation of collaborative and authentic learning activities, and the certification of acquired skills and knowledge. IMS is an initiative of EDUCAUSE.
- The Wellspring - an online community of distance educators
The Wellspring is a collaborative project from Instructional Systems Inc. and members of the Teachers College, Columbia University community. It is devoted to the needs of Distance Educators using the World Wide Web to deliver post-secondary courses to their students.
