CIT :: Reporting Problems to the CIT

Report a Problem to the CIT

If you are having problems using CIT resources, such as WebCT or Library/CIT-hosted streaming media, please let the CIT know by submitting a CIT Problem Report. Also, if you are having problems working with a specific WebCT course, you should bring these to the attention of the course instructor.

More Help:    See GALEN Account Help if you cannot remember your GALEN account login name and/or password. For more information on WebCT problems and access issues, see Known WebCT Problems and Supported Browsers and Settings. Please note that WebCT is unavailable every Wednesday morning from 5:30-7:30 am for regular system maintenance.

Note: For WebCT problems, only problem reports submitted by legitimate users of the UCSF WebCT system will be acknowledged. Users at insititutions other than UCSF who are having problems should report these to the educational technology staff at their own institutions.

Problems Using CIT Resources

There can be many reasons why you may not be able to access WebCT, Library/CIT-hosted streaming media, and other CIT resources at any given moment. Problems can occur at many places in the connection path from your computer to a given resource's server:
  • Your computer and/or internet connection
  • Your internet service provider
  • The UCSF campus network
  • The WebCT server, or the Streaming Media server
It is often difficult to know where the problem may lie. The CIT announces scheduled server downtime well in advance for WebCT, the streaming media server, and CIT web site. If you are having problems while accessing a CIT resource and you think it might be a server problem, please send in a CIT Problem Report (start by entering your email address at the right).
